Profile

Profile

We strive for efficient and effective mental health services and related cross-cultural consultation to individuals and organizations.

We aim to improve your quality of life and well-being while living away from your home country.

I have a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy in the State of California.

Moved to the U.S. as a young adult 20+ years ago. While excited to experience all a new country has to offer, I found it challenging to deal with some of the simple things in life. At one point I wanted to give up. Rather than flee back to my home country, I found myself inspired by my father to return to college and expand my education.

After graduating with a B.A. in Psychology from University of California at Berkeley, I worked as a research assistant where I had the opportunity to work closely with families of dementia patients. From this experience I had found my passion, my life’s calling and I went on to get a Master’s Degree in Counseling from San Francisco University, specializing in Marriage and Family Therapy. I had worked with several non-profit organizations providing counseling to people of diverse backgrounds dealing with abuse, acculturation process, addiction, anger management, depression, grief/loss, trauma, and multigenerational conflicts.

My personal acculturation process has taught me uniquely competent to assist individuals experiencing stress adapting to life in unfamiliar surroundings and I am truly compassionate about helping people. Now I'm back in my hometown, providing mental services to the bilingual communities in Japan.

Counseling

Counseling has traditionally been face-to-face, but it is basically done online so that it is easy for people who are far away or have a physical disability to use it.

Standard Rates: 15,000yen per 55 minute session

*If we mutually agree that we need to extend the session time, we will prorate the fees (i.e., 22,500yen for 90 min)

*There is a 24-hour cancellation policy. Appointments that are canceled less than 24-hours in Yo will advance or no-show will be charged the standard fee for a full session.

For those who are financially unable to afford my standard rates, I offer a sliding scale depending on household income.
